Established in 2012, Sterling Games, LLC began when I started pulling out my old wood-working equipment from the mid 1990's. I even let my son to cut his own pinewood derby car with the Delta 16" scroll saw scroll saw and I made a couple Cribbage Boards for friends and family. Then one day, a friend of mine pointed out he had a manual on how to build a CNC machine. I wasn't interested, but he left the manual sit on my work bench. Several months later I finally gave into temptation and picked up the manual. I started to tinker, spending only a couple hours a week on it, and then, 18 months later, the project was finally assembled~!
Since then, I have taught myself how to use graphics programs to design, how to operate the CNC machine, and how to program in Gcode. It is an iterative process, one I doubt I will ever really...'complete'. I have moved beyond my self-proclaimed title of "Firewood Maker" and can now offer a myriad of designs in cribbage boards, signs, camp-chairs and more!
Now that we've reached 2014 and I feel that things are going (moderately) smoothly, my focus will be on making stock of the designs I currently have. I will be spending some time working on new designs and/or modifying the existing designs that I have. I will a craft show coming up and I need to get stock ready as well as special orders. There is also a Facebook page where I often upload a note or two as events unfold in the shop!
